Once Upon a Time is the seventh music album by the Scottish band Simple Minds . It was released on October 21, 1985 and reached number one on the UK album charts for a week on October 27, 1985. The album stayed in the charts for a total of 77 weeks.

background

After the band gained international fame in early 1985 with the title Don't You (Forget About Me) from The Breakfast Club's soundtrack , they recorded the album in a similar commercially oriented pop-rock style that same year , with the Band placed their political commitment (especially for Amnesty International ) in the foreground. A world tour followed from October 31, 1985 to November 9, 1986. The USA, Canada, Europe, Japan and Australia were toured.

Chart success

The album reached number 1 in England (triple platinum) as well as number 10 in the USA, number 5 in Germany, number 6 in Norway and number 7 in Switzerland. The four singles released were: Alive and Kicking (UK 7, US 3, CH 13, DE 17), Sanctify Yourself (UK 10, US 14, DE 38), All the Things She Said (UK 9, US 28, DE 51 ) and Ghost Dancing (UK 13).
