The Ljamin ( Russian Лямин ) is a 281 kilometer long right tributary of the Ob in the West Siberian lowlands in Russia .

course

The actual Ljamin arises at a height of 52  m from the source rivers First Ljamin (Russian Perwy Ljamin or 1-j Ljamin; Chantic Jemynglemyng) from the right and Second Ljamin (Wtoroi Ljamin, 2-j Ljamin; Jechmynglemyng) from the left. About 10 km below the Third Lamin (Treti Ljamin, 3-j Ljamin; Mewtynglemyng) joins from the left ; The Ljamin has no other significant tributaries. All headwaters originate in the watershed area of the north of the Ob middle reaches this parallel Siberian land back (Sibirskije Uwaly) in about 120- 140  m height.

The Ljamin flows mainly in southeast direction strongly meandering the western part of Rajons Surgut the Autonomous circle of Khanty . It finally flows at a height of 24  m into the right arm of the Ob, which is divided from the island of Ljaminski, directly above the village of Ljamina and about 90 km west of the city of Surgut . Shortly before the estuary, the Ljamin (Ljaminski Sor), which widened like a lagoon , especially during the spring floods, includes two tributaries from the left of the east-flowing Pim , which flows a good 10 km up into the Ob , Tschiik and Naring.

Hydrography

In the lower reaches the river reaches a width of about 150 m at a depth of more than 1 m; the flow velocity here is 0.5 m / s.

The water flow of the Lyamin near Gorschkowo on the middle reaches, 166 km above the estuary, is an annual average of 100 m³ / s with a minimum of 34.1 m³ / s in March and a maximum of 240 m³ / s in June.

Infrastructure and economy

The river is navigable for 170 km (former village of Gorschkowo).

Apart from Pestschanoje on the lower reaches of the river, there are no permanently inhabited villages right next to the river; the small settlements on the middle reaches such as Gorschkowo or Darko-Gorschkowski were abandoned between the 1970s and 1990s. However, like large parts of the West Siberian lowlands, the flowed through area was increasingly developed from the 1970s onwards in connection with the search for oil and natural gas . In the catchment area of the Lyamin, for example, the Sakhalinskoje and Kamynskoje deposits are located . Nevertheless, the river is still one of the least anthropogenically influenced (polluted) watercourses in the area and is therefore popular among anglers from the surrounding cities.

The lower reaches of the Ljamin is crossed by the road that connects Surgut north of the Ob with the western and northwestern parts of the Autonomous Okrug ( Oktyabrskoje , Nyagan , Belojarski ).
