Geographical location

Lobenhausen is located in the Fulda-Werra-Bergland on the south-western, left bank of the Fulda , about 1 km (as the crow flies ) south-south-east of the center of the core town of Körler, which lies across from the river. Other neighboring towns are Wagenfurth in the north-west and Röhrenfurth in the south-east (both also on the Fulda) and Melgershausen in the south-west, which is close to the source of the Friday stream that flows through Lobenhausen and then flows into the Fulda . The Quillerkopf ( Quiller ; approx.  345  m ) rises to the west and the Kesselkopf ( Kessel ; 368.1  m ) to the south-southeast .

history

The village was first mentioned in a document in 1320. The place name changed from Lubinghusen (1320) to Lobenhausen, which has been in use since 1620. In 1585 the small town had 18 households, and in 1747 there were still only 17 households. In 1895 there were 119 inhabitants, and in 1961 a total of 125; since then the number of inhabitants has decreased.

The previously independent municipality of Lobenhausen was incorporated into the municipality of Körle on February 1, 1971 as part of the regional reform in Hesse .

The Lobenhausen village church, Church of the Beatitudes , was built in the late classical style in 1799. Chamber concerts have been held there every month since 1981 .
