Local H is an American grunge band formed in 1987 by Scott Lucas (vocals, guitar, bass) and Joe Daniels (drums). The two musicians played together in a school band in Illinois . Since the band couldn't find a good bass player, Scott Lucas built additional pickups into his electric guitar so that he could also play the bass line with it.

history

Local H's first album, Ham Fisted , was released in 1995 and was moderately successful. In contrast, the next album As Good as Dead , from which the singles Bound for the Floor and Eddie Vedder were released, reached gold status in 1996 and received consistently positive reviews. The third album Pack Up the Cats from 1998 with the single All the Kids Are Right was similarly well received, but could not build on the commercial success of its predecessor, as the record label PolyGram was taken over by Universal at this time .

Daniels left the band in 1999, and Lucas replaced him with Brian St. Clair, former triple Fast Action drummer and drum technician for Bun E. Carlos of Cheap Trick . In 2002 Lucas and St. Clair brought out the fourth album Here Comes the Zoo , which was released on the Palm Pictures label. The No Fun EP followed in 2003 and in April 2004 their fifth album Whatever Happened to PJ Soles? which was also successful.

In 2005 Local H recorded a version of Britney Spears ' hit Toxic , which brought the band some publicity. The song was initially only available on the website, but was released as the only studio track on the live album Alive '05 .

Local H is managed by Wes Kidd , a former member of Triple Fast Action .

In 2007 Local H embarked on a longer tour of Australia, the first since touring with Superjesus in 1998.

The studio album 12 Angry Months was released on May 13, 2008 .

In 2010 the cover album Local H's Awesome Mixtape was released, in 2012 the last studio album with drummer Brian St. Clair, Halleluja I'm a Bum! .

St. Clair left the band in mid-2013. In November 2013 Ryan Harding was introduced as a drummer, he can be heard for the first time on the Team EP, which was only sold at concerts of the band.

Another cover album, Local H's Awesome Mixtape # 2, was released in late 2014. In April 2015 the studio album Hey, Killer was released.
