Lodewijk Antoon Jansen SMM (born November 19, 1919 in Loenhout , Belgium , † April 20, 1988 ) was a Belgian religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Isangi .

Life

Lodewijk Antoon Jansen joined the Congregation of Montfortains at and received on 19 March 1945, the sacrament of Holy Orders . On January 10, 1952, Pope Pius XII appointed him . to the first Apostolic Prefect of Isangi.

On July 2, 1962, Lodewijk Antoon Jansen became the first bishop of Isangi as a result of the elevation of the Apostolic Prefecture of Isangi. The Bishop of Antwerp , Jules Victor Daem , ordained him episcopal on September 9 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Lisala , François Van den Berghe CICM , and the Bishop of Niangara , François-Odon De Wilde OP .

Jansen attended the first, second and fourth sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
