The Lone Star is a sailing ship that was built in 1968 at the Matthiesen & Paulsen shipyard in Arnis on the Schlei .
history
The ship was designed in 1968 by the designer U. Bartels as a regatta yacht and built in Arnis. The hull is made of mahogany , the planking was done as a diagonal claw . It was baptized with the name Suca .
In the following years, the ship was used in large regattas, such as the Admirals Cup in 1969 . In 1977 the ship was disqualified from the elimination regatta because it had gained an advantage by removing the propeller that was measured with it.
In 1979 it was used again at the Admirals Cup, when the ship was subsequently nominated under its owner, the Wedel contractor Willi Kuhrt, after the actually qualified Vineta had given up.
After a renovation and re-measurement, Dieter Krügel (Möbel-Krügel) made of stone bought the ship in 1982 and made it available to his club, the Noris Yacht Club in Nuremberg .
Since then, the ship has been used there for training in maritime areas and for deep-sea trips in the North and Baltic Seas and in the Atlantic in the region around England and Ireland .
In the winter of 2004/2005, extensive renovation and restoration work was carried out on the successor shipyard of the building yard, the M & P Jachtwerft Paulsen, which was completed on April 9, 2005 with the handover to the owner.
