The Loran Township is one of 18 townships in Stephenson County in the northwest of the US -amerikanischen state of Illinois .

Loran Township is located northwest of Illinois, around 30 km south of the Wisconsin border . The Mississippi , which forms the border with Iowa , is about 45 km to the west.

The Loran Township is located in the southwest of Stephenson County and borders within it in the west on the Jefferson Township , in the north on the Kent and Erin Township , in the northeast on the Harlem Township and in the east on the Florence Township . To the south, Loran Township borders Carroll County .
