Lorenz Ernst von Münchow (* 1700 ; † January 1758 ) was a royal Prussian major general and Drost zu Sparrenberg .

family

He was the eldest son of Anton Reinhold von Münchow and Marie Elisabeth von Briesen. He was married to Charlotte von Stechow and had a son and a daughter with her:

Life

Lorenz Ernst von Münchow entered Prussian service in 1716 in Infantry Regiment No. 1 ( Wartensleben ). In 1722 he became an ensign , in August 1724 secondary lieutenant and in July 1730 premier lieutenant. On January 1, 1732 he became a staff captain and in May 1735 captain . In October 1742 he became major , on June 6, 1751 lieutenant colonel and on September 10, 1754 colonel . A little earlier, on September 3, he became the official captain of Sparrenberg appointed (Ravensburg).

During the Seven Years' War he commanded Infantry Regiment No. 1 ( Winterfeld ). In December he took over the Infantry Regiment No. 28 ( Hautcharmoy ) and was made major general at the same time. In the battle of Hohenfriedberg he was able to distinguish himself particularly and was honored with the order Pour le Mérite . He was seriously injured in the Battle of Prague , as well as in the Battle of Leuthen . He died of his injuries in January 1758.
