Lorenzo José González Montesdeoca (born April 10, 2000 ) is a Swiss football player of Spanish descent. He is currently under contract with FC St. Gallen .
Club career
Servette FC
González was born in Las Palmas in the Canary Islands . His Spanish mother and Swiss father moved to Geneva . Here Lorenzo González joined Servette's youth at the age of five . As a junior in Geneva, he was the top scorer and best preparer every year.
Manchester City
In July 2016, various large clubs showed interest, including Real Madrid . But he decided to move to Manchester City and signed a four-year contract.
After graduating from youth academy, González made his adult debut for Manchester City's under-21s away team against Crewe Alexandra in the Football League Trophy . He scored the interim 2-0 in the 4-1 win.
Málaga
Since he could not prevail in Manchester, he joined the Spanish second division team Málaga on September 2 . He made his professional debut in Malaga on September 17, 2019, when he came on as a substitute in the second half. The game against Rayo Vallecano ended in a 1-1 draw.
St. Gallen
Since González didn't play enough in Málaga either, he moved to FC St. Gallen during the winter break of the 2019/20 season . He made the same path as Miro Muheim and Jérémy Guillemenot who both moved abroad early and were also committed by FC St. Gallen.
National team career
Lorenzo González currently plays for the Swiss U20 national team .
