Louis Schindelmeisser
Louis Schindelmeisser , actually Ludwig Alexander Balthasar Schindelmeisser (born December 8, 1811 in Königsberg (Prussia) , † March 30, 1864 in Darmstadt ) was a German conductor and composer .
Life
Schindelmeisser moved to Berlin after the death of his parents. At first he worked as a clarinetist. After completing his training as a conductor, he became a conductor in Salzburg , later in Innsbruck and Graz .
In 1837 he took over the position of Kapellmeister at the Königstädter Theater in Berlin . From 1838 to 1847 he was at the German theater in Pest . He lost the job because the theater burned down. This was followed in 1847 as Kapellmeister in Hamburg , in 1848 with the Frankfurt Opera and Museum Orchestra in Frankfurt and in 1851 in Wiesbaden . In 1853 he held his last office as court conductor in Darmstadt.
Act
Schindelmeisser stood for the new music theater in the sense of Richard Wagner . He was in contact with him and performed his works. In addition, he composed five now almost forgotten operas.
