Lourival Rodrigues Assis Filho , called Lourival Assis , or just Assis (born February 3, 1984 in Nova Viçosa , Brazil ), is a Brazilian soccer player who moved to the Azerbaijani first division club FK Qəbələ at the beginning of the 2011/12 season.

Career

Assis played for the Brazilian Iraty Sport Cluba and AD São Caetano before coming to Europe for the first time in the spring of 2009. The Swedish club Kalmar FF loaned him from February 2009 to July 31 of the year with an option to renew from São Caetano. His stay with the reigning Swedish champions, where he wore the shirt number "35", was overshadowed by injuries. In the Allsvenskan , the midfielder therefore only played in seven games. However, the stay was not unsuccessful, at the Supercup before the season opener he helped to win the title by beating IFK Göteborg 1-0 .

Assis returned to Brazil after the end of his loan deal, where he was under contract with Avaí FC in the A series . He then played for a year for second division América FC before joining Botafogo FC for the São Paulo state championship in early 2011 . He then played for Chapecoense in the Série C. In the same year he returned to Europe and signed a contract with the Bulgarian club FC Chernomorez Burgas . In Bulgaria he was able to secure a place in the regular team and developed into one of the important players in the 2011/12 season. He finished fourth with the club and narrowly missed a participation in the UEFA Europa League . Because of the missed participation and financial difficulties, the FC Chernomorets sold Burgas Assis, who signed a two-year contract with the Azerbaijani FK Qəbələ in the summer break of 2013 .
