Luca Riccitelli

Luca Riccitelli (born June 1, 1971 in Fabriano ) is a former Italian racing driver .

Career

Luca Riccitelli began his career in single-seater . He drove his first races in the Italian Formula 3 Championship in 1991. In 1993, he finished the season on a Dallara 393 behind Christian Pescatori , Marcello Ventre , Giancarlo Fisichella and Fabrizio De Simone , ex aequo with Federico Gemmo in fifth place overall behind Fisichella runner-up. Until 1996 he competed in various Formula 3 series and then switched to the British Formula 2 championship .

At the end of the 1990s, he turned his back on monoposto racing and turned to GT and sports car racing. By the end of his career in 2006, he celebrated two overall and 21 class wins. In 2000 and 2001 he was third overall in the N GT class of the FIA GT championship . He reached this position in 2005 in the GT2 classification of the Italian GT Championship. He finished the traditional 6-hour race in Vallelunga in 1999 in seventh overall.

His best place at the 24 Hours of Le Mans was 13th overall including class win in 1999 . The best finish at Sebring was 14th in 2000 .
