Luchia Yishak

Luchia Yishak (born April 8, 1973 ) is a former Ethiopian long-distance and cross-country runner .

In 1991 she ran 10,000 m at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo in 1991 . She finished 10th with 32: 27.61 minutes.

Yishak took part in the Summer Olympics in 1992 and 1996 . In 1992 in Barcelona she ran the 10,000 m, but was eliminated in the run-up with 34: 12.16 minutes. In Atlanta she retired in the 5000 m heat with 16: 04.29 min.

At the 5th World Athletics Championships in Gothenburg in 1995 , she was eliminated in the 5000 m heat with 15: 42.37.

She also ran successfully at the African Athletics Championships. In 1989 she won a bronze medal and in 1990 a silver medal in the 3000 m run. In 1992 she won the bronze medal in the 10,000 m run.

She became world champion in 1996 at the IAAF World Road Relay Championships in Copenhagen in 2:16:04 h.

She also won two silver medals ( 1990 and 1991 ) and one bronze medal ( 1992 ) in the team competition at the World Cross Country Championships.
