During his student days, he played four years for the selection in the NCAA college league . In the 1984 NHL Entry Draft , he was selected by the Winnipeg Jets in 135th place. Shortly before the end of the 1987/88 season, he changed to the organization of the Jets, but was used almost exclusively in the Moncton Hawks farm team in the American Hockey League until 1991 . For the 1995/96 season he moved to Europe for the second time and joined the Kölner Haien , for which he was active in the German Ice Hockey League for three years.
