Ludwig August Freiherr Neubronn von Eisenburg (born March 8, 1772 in Kleinglattbach , † September 16, 1823 in Bruchsal ) was a Baden colonel and chamberlain .

Life

Ludwig August was a son of Colonel Marcus Ernst Neubronn von Eisenburg (1720–1786) from Württemberg and his wife Wilhelmine, née Stettner von Grabenhofen. He had four brothers and two sisters, including the Württemberg Lieutenant General Franz Maximilian Neubronn von Eisenburg (1765-1809).

Military career

After attending the Karlsschule in Stuttgart , Neubronn joined the Baden army in 1792 . He took part in the campaigns on the Rhine and in 1809 on the side of France in the fighting in Vorarlberg . After Neubronn had briefly commanded the Grenadier Guard, he rose in 1813 to colonel and commander of the line infantry regiment "Graf Wilhelm von Hochberg" No. 2. At Altenburg his 1st Battalion had to surrender to the Allies and came to Hungary as a prisoner of war . The 2nd battalion was wiped out in the battle of Leipzig except for two officers and 80 men who were fit to fight. After the Grand Duchy switched to the Allied side at the end of November 1813, Neubronn took part in the sieges of Pfalzburg and Landau in the Palatinate the following year . He retired in 1819 and spent the rest of his life in Bruchsal, where he died on September 16, 1823.
