Ludwig Ferdinand von Dyherrn (* 1743 in Großenhain ; † February 8, 1817 in Dresden ) was a Saxon major general .

Ludwig Ferdinand was a member of the Silesian - Meissnian noble family Dyhrn .

He was married and had at least two daughters:

Career

Dyherrn began his career in the Saxon army as a soldier and in 1758 was a non-commissioned officer . In 1761 he was promoted to ensign in the fusiliers of the Rochow infantry regiment . After that he rose in 1763 to Sousleutnant in the infantry regiment "Kurprinz Christian" , in 1772 ibid. To Prime Lieutenant and in 1786 ibid. To Captain . Dyherrn took part in the War of the Bavarian Succession before he was promoted to major in the infantry regiment "Prinz Gotha" in 1792 . In participating in the First Coalition , he made such a difference that the Prussian king awarded him the order Pour le Mérite on November 28, 1793 . In 1799 Dyherrn was electoral adjutant general and at the same time advanced to lieutenant colonel . He was promoted to colonel in 1800. In 1805 he was appointed commander of the infantry regiment "Prince Xaver" and in the following year, 1806, he took part as a brigadier in the Fourth Coalition . Also in 1806, when he was promoted to major general, he was transferred as a brigadier to the infantry regiment "Prince Friedrich August" . Dyherrn then became General Inspector in 1807 and Chief of Infantry Regiment No. 13 . He stayed in Poland and Silesia in 1808 and 1809 . In 1810 he was again Brigadier but his 1813 farewell with pension received.
