Ludwig Friedrich Hesse

Ludwig Friedrich Hesse (born September 2, 1783 in Rudolstadt ; † March 28, 1867 there ) was a German historian .

Life

The son of the vice-principal and consistorial councilor Johann Ludwig Hesse attended a grammar school in his hometown. From 1801 he studied theology , classical studies and philology at the University of Leipzig . In 1805 he received his doctorate , after which he became a lecturer . He then became a collaborator at the grammar school in Rudolstadt and deputy administrator of the princely library. At the same grammar school, Hesse became sub-principal in 1807 . In 1810 he was appointed professor at the grammar school and in 1819 director. He was allowed to use his hometown archives for work; in 1837 he left high school and was employed at the archive as an archivist and librarian. Ludwig Hesse was also a member of several domestic and foreign associations. Hesse had also written an autobiography .
