Ludwig Hamm
Ludwig Hamm (born December 6, 1921 in Kaiserslautern ; † November 20, 1999 ) was a German lawyer and politician ( FDP , later CDU ).
Life and work
After graduating from high school, Hamm was drafted into the air force and trained there as a fighter pilot. He took from 1940 to 1945 as a soldier of the Wehrmacht at the World War II in part, was in the Todt Organization used and finally to lieutenant appointed.
After the end of the war, Hamm studied law and political science at the universities of Göttingen and Mainz from the winter semester 1945 and completed his studies with two state examinations. 1952 doctorate he attended the University of Mainz for Dr. jur. with the work The express barriers to constitutional amendment in the Bonn Basic Law, constitutional theoretical considerations on Article 79 Paragraph 3 Bonn Basic Law . From June 1952 to 1987 he ran his own law firm in Kaiserslautern.
Political party
Hamm joined the FDP in 1953 and was elected chairman of the FDP district association West Palatinate . In 1969 he left the FDP and joined the CDU in November 1971 .
MP
Hamm had been a councilor for the city of Kaiserslautern since 1956 and was chairman of the FDP parliamentary group there . After being in the general election in 1957 was a candidate still unsuccessful, he pulled at the federal elections in 1961 (2nd place) and 1965 (No. 1) each on the national list of the FDP Rhineland-Palatinate in the German Bundestag and worked for the Parliament from the beginning of 4th electoral term on October 17, 1961 until his resignation on May 12, 1966. During the 4th electoral term (1961-1965) he was chairman of the Health Care Committee .
Public offices
After leaving the German Bundestag, Hamm served as State Secretary in the Ministry of Economics and Transport for the State of Rhineland-Palatinate from 1966 to 1967 . Already after the election for the 6th state parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate on April 23, 1967, his activities ended; he was put into temporary retirement after the new government was formed.
