In 1855 King Maximilian II made him major general in honor , in 1856 chamberlain and in 1861 he made him count in Bavaria .

Family relationships

Ludwig von Deroy was married to Josepha Mandl von Deutenhofen († January 3, 1832); after her death he married the middle-class Luise Mutzler († 1875). The daughters Karoline (1824–1889) and Aloysia (* 1826) were from the first marriage.

The former became the wife of Baron Adolf von Seefried auf Buttenheim (1800–1865). Her grandson Otto Ludwig Philipp von Seefried auf Buttenheim (1870–1951) joined in a very controversial love marriage in 1893 with the Wittelsbach princess Elisabeth Marie of Bavaria (1874–1957), daughter of Prince Leopold of Bavaria and granddaughter of Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria . A child from this marriage (Auguste von Seefried auf Buttenheim) was in turn the wife of the Bavarian Prince and historian Adalbert von Bayern (1886-1970) .
