Ludwig von Reventlow (administrative lawyer)

Count Ludwig Christian Adolf Friedrich von Reventlow , also Ludwig Christian Adolf Friedrich zu Reventlow (born January 6, 1824 at Sandbjerg Castle , † June 14, 1893 in Lübeck ) was a German administrative lawyer in the Kingdom of Denmark . Unlike his brother Arthur von Reventlow , he managed to switch to the Prussian administration.

Count Reventlow's parents are Count Ludwig Detlev von Reventlow (1780–1857) and Agnes geb. von Hammerstein-Loxten (1795-1824).

Life

Reventlow studied law at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel and the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg . He became a member of the Corps Saxonia Kiel (1845) and the Corps Guestphalia Heidelberg (1846). After completing his studies, initially as a law firm auditor in Schwerin , he entered the Danish civil service. After the German-Danish War , he was appointed bailiff of the Husum office in 1865 and from 1866 to 1868 he was head stallion in Eiderstedt . In 1868 Reventlow became the first district administrator of the newly created Husum district in the Prussian province of Schleswig-Holstein . He held the office until 1889. He then lived in Sandbjerg and Lübeck.
