Ludwig von Rittberg

Ludwig Georg August Graf von Rittberg (born November 20, 1797 in Warbelow , † October 11, 1881 in Glogau ) was a lawyer and member of the Reichstag .

origin

His parents were the Swedish captain Johann Wilhelm Ferdinand Graf von Rittberg (1765-1840) and his wife Sophie Juliane Dorothea, née von Güldener (1774-1852).

Life

Rittberg studied from 1816 to 1818 in Leipzig , Rostock and Berlin . From 1818 to 1822 he was at the Court of Appeal, from 1822 to 1833 Assessor and Council Director at the Higher Regional Court in Stettin . 1825 doctorate he became Dr. jur. From 1833 to 1836 Rittberg was an extraordinary member of the Upper Tribunal, from 1836 to 1839 Vice President of the Higher Regional Court in Glogau . From 1839 to 1845 he was second president of the Higher Regional Court in Breslau , then Chief President of the Higher Regional Court in Glogau. In 1853 he was appointed to the Real Secret Council.

Since 1849 Rittberg was a member of the first Prussian Chamber , from 1850 to 1854 its president and then its lifelong member. In 1854 he became a member of the manor and crown syndic. From 1849 to 1850 he was also a member of the State House of the Erfurt Parliament and the Federal Arbitration Court. From 1871 to 1874 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the conservative parliamentary group for the constituency of Liegnitz 3 (Glogau).

family

Rittberg married Countess Auguste von Eickstedt-Peterswaldt (1803–1881). The couple had several children including:

  • Aurel Hugo (1827-1902)
∞ Wilhelmine Freiin von Block called von Bibran and Modlau (1821–1864)
∞ Freda Marie Countess zu Dohna-Schlodien (1845–1894), daughter of Hermann zu Dohna-Kotzenau
