Ludwig Tutschek since 1914, Ritter von Tutschek (* 24. January 1864 in Munich , † 9. November 1937 ) was a Bavarian lieutenant general and in the First World War 1917-18 commander of the German Alpine Corps .

Life

Tutschek was the son of the royal Bavarian court advisor and general physician 2nd class Lorenz Tutschek and his wife Sophie, née Schamberger. After attending the humanistic grammar school , he joined the 2nd Infantry Regiment "Crown Prince" of the Bavarian Army as a three-year-old volunteer on October 1, 1881 and was promoted to secondary lieutenant by the end of December 1883 . On August 11, 1885, he moved to the 4th Infantry Regiment "King Wilhelm von Württemberg" in Metz and from November 1, 1890 was used as a battalion adjutant. After being promoted to prime lieutenant on June 13, 1892, on February 19, 1894, he was transferred as an adjutant to the non-commissioned officer school in Fürstenfeldbruck .

In the same year Tutschek married for the first time. On July 14th he led Maria-Emilie Müller in front of the altar and from this marriage a son emerged who was to fall as a lieutenant on May 27th, 1916 before Verdun .

On September 16, Tutschek took over as captain of a company in the 21st Infantry Regiment "Grand Duke Friedrich Franz IV of Mecklenburg-Schwerin" and was appointed battalion commander on March 8, 1907 while being promoted to major . On March 3, 1911, he was transferred to the regimental staff as a lieutenant colonel . With his promotion to colonel on May 20, 1913, he was entrusted with the leadership of the 15th Infantry Regiment "King Friedrich August of Saxony" in Neuburg an der Donau .

He also held this command at the outbreak of the First World War and experienced his first combat operations in association with the I. Army Corps in the battles for Badonviller on the Western Front .

After his first wife died, Tutschek married Marie Luise, born on August 2, 1914. Tile a second time. The son from this relationship fell as a first lieutenant during the Second World War in Russia.

On April 8, 1915, Tutschek was appointed major general and on May 21, 1915 with the management of the newly established 1st Jäger Brigade , which was initially deployed in Tyrol and then in Serbia until the end of the year. He gave up command again on February 7, 1917 and took over the 15th Infantry Division , which was in the process of being set up, until September 4, 1917. On September 5, Tutschek replaced Konrad Krafft von Dellmensingen as commander of the German Alpine Corps and transferred the unit the end of the war, up to its return to Germany in late November 1918. on 14 May 1919 Tutschek became the disposition made and on January 20, 1920, simultaneous presentation of the character as a lieutenant general retired from the army.
