Lugojel (German: Lugoschel , Hungarian: Lugoshely ) is a village in Timiș County , Banat , Romania , which belongs to the Gavojdia municipality .
Geographical location
Lugojel is located about 5 kilometers southeast of Lugoj , on the left bank of Temesch , on the DN6 national road .

history
The first documentary mention comes from 1600, when the village belonged to the Lugoj district, Severin district. In 1701 Peter Macskásy was lord of Lugojel, but had to cede it to the Turks after the Treaty of Karlowitz . On the Josephine land survey of 1717, the place is registered with 62 houses and belonged to the Caransebeş district .
From 1718 to 1778 the village was part of the Habsburg crown domain Temescher Banat . The official place name was Lugoschel . After the Austro-Hungarian Compromise (1867), the Banat was annexed to the Kingdom of Hungary within the dual monarchy of Austria-Hungary . During the Hungarian period, Lugoshely was the official place name.
The Treaty of Trianon on June 4, 1920 resulted in the Banat being divided into three parts, whereby the town fell to the Kingdom of Romania . Since then, Lugojel has been the official place name.
