Luigi Vitale (born October 5, 1987 in Castellammare di Stabia ) is an Italian football player who is under contract with Hellas Verona .

Career

Luigi Vitale learned to play football in the youth of US Avellino and SSC Napoli as a defensive all-rounder. In the 2005/06 season he played three games for Napoli. In the following season he received only one assignment at SSC Napoli, which is why he was awarded to SS Virtus Lanciano in Serie C for the entire 2007/08 season . At Lanciano he played in 28 games in which he was without a goal. The club finished 16th in the C1 series, but had to contest the play-out games to maintain the league because of ten penalty points that the club had received due to the poor financial situation. In these, Vitale and Lanciano were barely defeated by the SS Juve Stabia and relegated. Vitale then returned to his home club in Napoli. In the 2008/09 season he received 18 appearances in Serie A with the southern Italians , in which he scored his first goal as a professional. In the summer of 2009, Luigi Vitale was awarded to AS Livorno for the remainder of the 2009/10 season . The club also acquired an option to purchase the player. After he fought for a regular place in Livorno in the course of the season and relegated with the club as bottom of the table from Serie A, the purchase option was not taken and the midfielder returned to Naples.
