Lutz Fleischer (painter)

Lutz Fleischer (born June 2, 1956 in Dresden ; † July 10, 2019 ) was a German painter , graphic artist and object artist .

Life

After an apprenticeship as offset retoucher, he attended evening school at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts . Then he continued his self-taught education. He also worked as a salesman, stoker, gardener, warehouse clerk and restorer before devoting himself exclusively to art from 1981 onwards.

Together with Petra Kasten and Andreas Hegewald , he founded the Leitwolfverlag in 1983 and the Schlüsselbundverlag in 1996, which specialized in artistically valuable editions. He contributed to numerous artist books , worked on editions of the Obergrabenpresse and published articles in the art magazines Clochart and Bizarre Cities . During this time he worked intensively with visual poetry . In 1991 he founded the Blaue Fabrik gallery in Dresden together with Sigrid Walther and Thomas Haufe . Fleischer had numerous personal exhibitions in Dresden, Berlin , Leipzig , Rossendorf , Graz , Ulm , Frankfurt / Main , Munich and Cologne .

In 2005 he was awarded the Hans-Theo-Richter Prize of the Saxon Academy of the Arts .

Lutz Fleischer lived and worked in Dresden- Neustadt .

Fleischer died on July 10, 2019.
