Lyski (German Lissek ) is a village in the powiat Rybnicki in the Silesian Voivodeship , Poland . It is also the seat of the rural community of the same name .

The village of Lyski is 11 km west of Rybnik and 48 km southwest of Katowice .

history

Between 1954 and 1972 Lyski belonged to the Gromada Lyski whose seat it was, and from 1975 to 1998 to the Katowice Voivodeship .

The municipality of Lyski covers an area of ​​57.83 km². 53% of the area is used for agriculture and 36% is forested.

The municipality has four school centers, each with a kindergarten ( przedszkole ) and a primary school ( szkoła podstawowa ) a single primary school and a middle school ( gimnazjum )

Community leader

The head of the municipal administration is the municipality leader . Since 2006 this has been Grzegorz Gryt from the Silesian Regional Party . The regular election in October 2018 led to the following result.

  • Grzegorz Gryt ( Silesian Regional Party ) 42.1% of the vote
  • Szymon Musioł (Election Committee “New Lyski”) 30.3% of the vote
  • Grzegorz Dudek (Election Committee “Modern Lyski Commune”) 27.6% of the vote

In the runoff election that was then necessary, Gryt narrowly prevailed against Musioł with 51.4% of the votes and was elected for another term.

Municipal council

The municipal council consists of 15 members and is directly elected by the population in single-person constituencies. The 2018 city council election led to the following result:

  • Election Committee “Modern Lyski Commune” 37.3% of the vote, 8 seats
  • Silesian Regional Party 37.1% of the vote, 5 seats
  • Election Committee "New Lyski" 18.7% of the votes, 1 seat
  • Election committee “Voters' Association for Independent Self-Government” 3.4% of the votes, 1 seat
  • Electoral Committee “Independent Voting Community Lyski” 2.4% of the vote, no seat
  • Remaining 1.4% of the vote, no seat
