Möllensdorf is a district of the city of Coswig (Anhalt) in the district of Wittenberg in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

Möllensdorf on the southern edge of the Vorfläming is located northwest of Wittenberg and about seven kilometers from the Elbe town of Coswig (Anhalt) . The village lies in the Fläming Nature Park , which was declared in 2005 .

history

Möllensdorf first appeared in a register in 1356. The village church was built from boulders .

The forests around Möllensdorf once belonged to the Cranach family of painters from Wittenberg, who held treasury and mayor offices there.

On July 1, 1950, the previously independent municipality of Pülzig was incorporated.

On July 1, 2007, the municipality of Möllensdorf was reclassified from the former Anhalt-Zerbst district to the Wittenberg district due to the district reform .

On July 1, 2009 Möllensdorf was incorporated into Coswig (Anhalt) with 175 inhabitants on 10.62 km² (December 31, 2007) . The last mayor was Lothar Kruschel.

Transport links

The community is crossed by the state road 123 (Coswig - Straach - Niemegk ), the Köselitz motorway junction on the federal motorway 9 (Berlin - Munich) is about ten kilometers away. The next train stations are in Coswig and Griebo ( Dessau-Roßlau- Wittenberg route).
