The Möllensee is an inland lake in the municipality of Grünheide southeast of Berlin in the Oder-Spree district in Brandenburg . It lies between the inhabited parts of the municipality Altbuchhorst and Kagel-Finkenstein.

The lake is 62 hectares and up to 7 meters deep. There is a water connection to Berlin via the lakes to the southwest . Tributaries exist from the north via a ditch and from the east via the Kiessegraben from the Kiessee. To the south there is a connection to the Peetzsee via the Neue Löcknitz . The chain of lakes from Möllensee to Werlsee lies geographically in the course of the Neue Löcknitz , which is dammed at the Fangschleuse and then flows into the Löcknitz at the western edge of the Fangschleuse settlement . For inland shipping, it forms the largest part of the so-called other inland waterway of the federal Löcknitz (Lö) , which connects to the federal waterway Rüdersdorfer Gewässer at Erkner in Flakensee . The Berlin Waterways and Shipping Office is responsible . The water connection is used by a ferry company from Grünheide to go to the Rüdersdorf Museum Park on certain days . On the eastern bank of the elongated lake is the Kagel-Finkenstein settlement, also known as Neu-Finkenstein when it was built . The development of the settlement extends to the shore. To the south of the settlement are the Zinndorfer Heideland and the Kaber Luch marshland . The northwestern shoreline is lined with bushes and trees. Landstrasse 23 runs parallel to the northwest bank.

The lake is used for bathing and fishing. There are several campsites in the area .
Flora and fauna
Of fish there, especially eels , perch , carp , roach , bream , silver bream and pike . The German Angler Association maintains the Möllensee group here.
