Murderous Decision is a German TV film by director Oliver Hirschbiegel and the first TV crime thriller to be told simultaneously from two different perspectives on two TV channels ( Das Erste and ZDF ). The film first aired on December 15, 1991.

concept

The film tells its story on two channels in two versions: Both films begin identically, then one is dedicated to the woman ( Mapi Galán ), the other to the man ( Nils Tavernier ). In individual scenes in which both appear, the versions are the same. Important information is shown on both channels at the same time so that the viewer does not lose the thread by zapping .

background

The film was also broadcast on two TV channels simultaneously in Austria , the Netherlands , Italy and Spain . The production costs amounted to about four million DM .

Author Joachim Friedmann and draftsman Henk Wyniger published a comic based on the script in collaboration with director Oliver Hirschbiegel . The idea was developed by Joachim Dennhardt together with Peter Nadermann .

Audience ratings

The first broadcast on a Sunday evening at 9 p.m. achieved an overall average reach of 13.76 million viewers, including 6.99 million viewers on Das Erste and 6.77 million viewers on ZDF.
