The Mühlenberg is 56  m above sea level. NHN the highest point in the community of Rastow in the Mecklenburg-West Pomerania district of Ludwigslust-Parchim . It covers a total of 48.9  hectares ; It is currently privately owned with around 47 hectares. There is a transmission mast on it .

The Mühlenberg rises directly east of Rastow . 1.9 km north-north-west of the summit is Uelitz , 3.2 km north-north-east Lübesse , 3.8 km east-north-east Goldenstädt , 3.8 km south-east Fahrbinde and 5 km south Lüblow . North to west past the survey flows through Rastow and its district Kraak the brews influx Kraaker mill stream , the water is one located at its source through a southern slope extending to the southwest stream near Moraas fed.

In the topographic map services of the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN), a trigonometric point at 55.9  m is recorded on the summit region of the 56  m high Mühlenberg . The elevation is around 1.4 km long in north-south direction and around 1 km wide in east-west direction.

Natural allocation

The Mühlenberg belongs in the large natural regions of the East German plateau and heathland and in the main unit group Mecklenburg-Brandenburg plateau and hill country (no. D05) to the main unit of the southwestern foreland of the Mecklenburg Lake District (no. 76).

History and facilities

Surname

The Mühlenberg got its name because of an old mill that is said to have stood where the transmission mast mentioned below now stands. However, details are not known. The elevation is also known under the name Lehmberg , as it has a large amount of clay, which is quite rare in the adjacent sandy area.

Military use

On the southeast flank of the Mühlenberg there is a former restricted military area that was used by Soviet soldiers during and after the Second World War . Numerous ruins of buildings that were once used for military purposes remain; but many have already been renovated and are now used as company premises. The survey was often in the press after hand grenades or the like were found there.

Transmission mast

At the summit of the mountain was a transmission tower of Deutsche Telekom established a partial concrete road was built through the forest for its construction; this is used today not only by Telekom, but also by walkers.

Rastow outdoor swimming pool

On the south-southwest flank of the Mühlenberg lies the former Rastow outdoor pool, which is currently privately owned and is still fed by the above -mentioned source.

Flora and forestry

Most of the Mühlenberg is covered with pines , but there are also isolated, artificially planted oaks , beeches , birches , ash trees , maples and spruces growing in certain places. It is used for forestry.
