Mühlstetten is a district of the municipality of Röttenbach in the Central Franconian district of Roth . It has about 700 inhabitants and was an independent municipality in the former district of Weißenburg in Bavaria before the regional reform in Bavaria .
location
The church village of Mühlstetten is located in the Franconian Lake District in the Georgensgmünd , Pleinfeld and Röttenbach triangle on the Swabian Rezat to the east , next to the Schwarzenberg. Geographically, it is divided into the Altort in the Rezat Valley and the settlement area on the western slope.
history
The name Mühlstetten comes from the fact that there were several mills on the Swabian Rezat. Before the Second World War , the place had only 200 inhabitants. After that, it more than doubled in size. Many displaced persons and refugees have found a new home in Mühlstetten.
The municipality, which previously belonged to the former district of Weißenburg , came to the district of Roth on July 1, 1972 as part of the municipal reform . On January 1, 1975, the previously independent municipality of Mühlstetten and its districts of Oberbreitenlohe and Unterbreitenlohe were merged with Röttenbach to form the new municipality of Röttenbach.
religion
The village used to belong to the Catholic parish of Stirn and only became a branch church of the Catholic parish of Röttenbach on January 1, 2003. As in Röttenbach, the Protestants are looked after by the parishes of Georgensgmünd. The small Marienkirche and the Trinity Church in Mühlstetten, consecrated in 1990, form the spiritual center of the parish. The churches are used by both major denominations.
Infrastructure
Mühlstetten is more tourist-oriented than the other districts of Röttenbach. Due to the proximity to the Brombachsee (4 km as the crow flies), most of the guest rooms and holiday apartments in the municipality of Röttenbach are located here. Agriculture also plays a bigger role - there are three full-time farms. Structurally, Mühlstetten has now almost merged with Röttenbach.
traffic
The state road St 2224 runs through the old town. From this the state road St 2923 branches off to Röttenbach and the district road RH 19 / WUG 19 to Stirn . The Treuchtlingen – Nuremberg railway line with its own stop also runs through the town.
