Münchner Blechreiz is a brass ensemble made up of musicians from various Munich orchestras . It was founded in 2003. The first appearance took place under a different name, but this was changed early for legal reasons. Colloquially, the ensemble called itself "Vesis 11" when it was founded.
At the 7th German Orchestra Competition in Wuppertal in 2008, the ensemble achieved 24.2 out of 25 points in the brass ensemble category and won first place with the Ensemble BrassCats.
At the 8th German Orchestra Competition in Hildesheim in 2012, the ensemble achieved 23.7 out of 25 points in the brass ensemble category and won first place.
occupation
The line- up consists of five trumpets , two horns , five trombones and a tuba . The ensemble plays works for large brass ensembles such as the Philip Jones Brass Ensemble and German Brass , as well as works for smaller ensembles such as Mnozil Brass , brass quintets or trumpet and trombone quartets .
Musician
All members of the ensemble are amateur musicians who are studying in various academic fields or who are already working. But they all have many years of musical training. The musicians have successfully taken part in the music competition " Jugend musiziert ", in various selected orchestras, such as the Federal Youth Orchestra, Bavarian State Youth Orchestra, Swabian Youth Brass Orchestra or completed their basic military service in the military music service of the Bundeswehr.
From 2007 to 2012 the ensemble was directed by Ekkehard Hauenstein, flautist at the Meiningen State Theater .
Furthermore, and especially in preparation for concerts and various competitions, samples by professional musicians, etc. a. the Bavarian State Orchestra Munich ( OperaBrass ) and the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra .
The repertoire ranges from pieces from the Renaissance to Viennese Classical , Romantic , and film music to contemporary original compositions for brass ensembles.
Since there are only limited pieces available for this extended line-up, many of the works come from our own arrangements.
Concert tours took Münchner Blechreiz to Central Europe, Costa Rica and several times to Spain to the MúsicaMallorca festival .
