Magelsen is a district of the municipality Hilgermissen in the joint municipality Grafschaft Hoya in the district of Nienburg / Weser in Lower Saxony .

The Weser flows east 2 km away. The Hoyaer Emte flows into the Weser to the south-east of Magelsen .

Of Bremen about Nienburg / Weser to Hannover leading B 6 extends km southwest 15, while that of Verden (Aller) over Nienburg by Minden extending B 215 east - extends at 4 km - on the other side of the Weser.

In Magelsen there are no street names, only house numbers that residents, postmen, vendors and visitors have to use for orientation.

Since March 1, 1974, the until then independent municipality belongs to Hilgermissen.
