Magnus Magnusson (born June 15, 1941 in Lund , Sweden ) a Swedish- Danish filmmaker who worked mainly as a prop master , set designer , decorator and director in Danish and Swedish film and television productions.

biography

Magnusson first worked as a native Swede as an accountant and economist in Lund. He then studied theater studies in Stockholm and was asked if he would like to take part in the Swedish film The End of a Great Love about Elvira Madigan by Bo Widerberg . After his successful participation he came into contact with Danish filmmakers and moved to Denmark in 1965 and got a job as a prop master at Nordisk Film in March 1967 . Magnusson was responsible for the construction of extensive decorations, for the production design and the provision of various props in many Danish television and film productions in his work as a prop master, set designer and decorator at Nordisk Film.

His most important roles were in Oh, these tenants , private detective Anthonsen , Matador , Forsvar , En kongelig familie and Bryggeren . In 1986 Magnusson gave up his permanent position at Nordisk Film and then continued to work as a freelancer, now also in other various Danish, Swedish and international productions such as Pelle, der Eroberer , Der Ochse , Return to Sender and The Fifth Woman . The Olsen Gang was involved as a prop master and set designer in all 14 Danish films and also in 1999 in Olsenbandens aller siste kupp , the last film by the Norwegian Olsen Gang .

As an actor, he also had a supporting role in The Olsen Gang Strikes Again in 1977 and Jumps in Snøvsen ta'r in 1994 . He has also worked as a director in four Danish films. Overall, Magnusson was involved in more than 60 films in various positions. In 2007 he left the film industry and settled in Søby, south of Herning, in Denmark as a retired man .
