action

In the Christianshavn district of Copenhagen there is a rumor that the old buildings on Amagergade will be demolished. This also applies to the tenants of the two houses, which are under the direction of caretaker Meyer, and Emma's milieu bar opposite - the Rattenloch (Rottehullet). The real estate speculator and builder Hallandsen has almost all the necessary contracts and permits in his pocket with American investors behind him. After the demolition of the old residential area, he would like to build on Amagergade with a large shopping center and a luxurious hotel complex under the name "Hilarious Holyday". Hallandsen only needs the approval of the building ministry and has not yet been able to acquire the plots at Amagergade 7 and 9 from the old house owner, Ms. Lorentzen, in order to finally own the entire quarter. The tenant and petty criminal Larsen forges and steals the last missing documents for the building project from the building ministry. The other tenants of the houses in question and Emma, the Kneiper, also know how to defend themselves and with great ingenuity also trick Hallandsen & Co several times across the board. Last but not least, they drive the building magnates and investors to despair and to give up the ambitious construction project and save their neighborhood and its street from the threat of demolition.
