Mala Emde (born April 22, 1996 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German actress .

Career

Mala Emde, the daughter of Thomas Emde and Cathrin Ehrlich, grew up with an older sister. From 2009 to 2012 she attended the dance, theater & music studio in Frankfurt am Main. There she made her debut in The Ashen Children by Janusz Głowacki in the role of Cinderella and was also seen in Turandot after Friedrich Schiller as Tartalia .

Emde stood in front of the camera for the first time at the age of eleven. She made her television debut in the episode Death in the OP of the RTL series Post Mortem , which was broadcast in 2008 . She also played in three Tatort episodes and in the ZDF early evening series SOKO Köln and Heldt .

In the cinema, Emde could be seen in offline and the short film Gray Hat . In 2013 she also took part in a teaching film for the Federal Center for Health Education .

Emde had her first leading role in the 2015 documentary drama My Daughter Anne Frank . In it she played the Jewish girl Anne Frank , who became known through her diary . In preparation for the role, Emde visited all stages of Anne Frank's life. For this role she was awarded the Bavarian Television Prize for Young Talent in 2015.

In 2016 Emde began studying acting at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin .
