The Central Moluccas ( Maluku Tengah in Indonesian ) are a government district ( Kabupaten ) in the Indonesian province of Maluku .

361,287 people live on the Central Moluccas (2010 census).

The Central Moluccas have an area of ​​29,153 km². They consist of the center of Seram Island , the Banda Islands and the Ambon Islands (excluding the autonomous city ​​of Ambon ), Haruku , Saparua , Molana , Nusalaut , Manuk , Serua , Nila and Teun . Apart from the north coast of Seram on the Seram Sea , the islands of the administrative district are located in the Banda Sea .

The capital is Masohi , Serams on the south coast.
