The Malva pusilla ( Malva pusilla ) is a plant from the genus of mallow ( Malva ) within the family of the Malvaceae (Malvaceae).

Vegetative characteristics
The small-flowered mallow is an annual herbaceous plant that reaches heights of 8 to 30 centimeters. The stem leaves are lobed.
Generative characteristics
The flowering period extends from June to September. The flowers are clustered in the leaf axils. The hermaphroditic flowers are radial symmetry . The calyx lobes have a frizzy edge. The petals are whitish, weakly edged and with a length of 4 to 5 millimeters as long as the calyx.
The fruit stalks are curved downwards. The partial fruits are wrinkled and have sharp edges.
The number of chromosomes is 2n = 42, 76.

The small-flowered mallow is a therophyte , hemicryptophyte and a half-rosette plant .
There is insect pollination and self-pollination instead. The seeds are long-lived and spread through humans, velcro spread and digestive spread .
Occurrence
The small-flowered mallow grows on dry to moderately dry and often patchy ruderal areas such as steps and roadsides, in vineyards and on corn fields. The small-flowered mallow is salt-tolerant. In Central Europe it is a character species of the Polygonion avicularis association, but also occurs in societies of the Sisymbrion association or rarely in those of the order Polygono-Chenopodietalia.
In Germany, the small-flowered mallow is an archaeophyte . It occurs scattered in northern Thuringia , southern Saxony-Anhalt , eastern Brandenburg , northern Lower Saxony , Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and southern Schleswig-Holstein , rarely in western Bavaria and near Passau, in northern Baden-Württemberg , eastern Rhineland-Palatinate , Hesse , southern Thuringia , northern Saxony-Anhalt and western Brandenburg as well as rare and inconsistent in northern and western North Rhine-Westphalia, Saxony and southern Lower Saxony.
