Mamljut ( Kazakh Мамлют , Russian Мамлютка Mamljutka ) is a city in Kazakhstan . The place with 6,833 inhabitants (as of 2020) is the administrative center of the Audany Mamljut in northern Kazakhstan .
geography
Mamljut is located in northern Kazakhstan in the Northern Kazakhstan region around 20 kilometers from the Russian border. The place is about 40 kilometers west of Petropawl , about 190 kilometers north of Kökschetau and a good 210 kilometers east of Kurgan . The area around the city is characterized by numerous lakes .
history
The place was founded in 1786 by the Tatar farmer Mawljut Walgusin from the Tyumen region . He settled here, as large landowners in Russia increasingly crowded out small farms. By 1905 the place had grown to around 200 people. At the end of the 19th century Mamljut was connected to the railway network of the West Siberian Railway ( Chelyabinsk - Omsk ).
In 1969 the town was granted city rights.

traffic
The Kazakh highway A21 , which connects the place with Petropavl and Qostanai , runs through Mamljut . The city is also on the M51 , a section of the Russian R254 , which runs here over Kazakh territory and connects the city with Kurgan. There is a train station in Mamljut with connections to Petropavl and Petuchowo, Russia .
