Krüger researched and published in the fields of philosophy , theology , anthroposophy , literary and art history . He strove to unite science, art and religion in the sense that Johann Gottfried Herder coined the expression " beautiful science " and Rudolf Steiner renewed it. Manfred Krüger worked out terms such as initiation and reincarnation as the “representation and interpretation of death” in Gérard de Nerval 's work. With the guiding point of view of initiation, he also examined “changes in the tragic”. In the work of the church father Origen , referring above all to the commentary on Matthew, he developed that the idea of reincarnation , as Gotthold Ephraim Lessing and Steiner think, has its origin in the resurrection of Jesus Christ , leads to the “birth of the ego” and accordingly from the old one A distinction must be made between the theory of the migration of souls (1996). He interpreted the "transfiguration on the mountain" as a source for a Christian aesthetic (2003). In the work of Novalis himself showed him "paths to higher consciousness" (2008). In Albrecht Dürer's work he showed mysticism , self-knowledge and the search for Christ as a lifelong basic mood (2009). In his Steiner studies (1983, 1988, 2009) the concept of meditation is the focus.
