Manfred Mann's Earth Band is the first published music album by the British rock band Manfred Mann's Earth Band . It was recorded at Maximum Studios and IBC Studios in London in 1971 and was released in 1972.

The album

Manfred Mann's Earth Band contains a mixture of cover versions and their own titles, which is typical for the Earth Band. The cover versions of this album are u. a. to find songs by Bob Dylan , Dr. John , Randy Newman and the American guitarist Lane Tietgen .

reception

Robert Christgau gave the album the best rating A + and describes the title Part Time Man as brilliant.

JP Ollio from allmusic describes the album as brilliant too. It was one of the most underrated albums of the 1970s and completely satisfied the listener. The album received four and a half stars out of five.

In Volume 1 of its Rock book series , the magazine eclipsed describes the album as "still having strong blues and jazz bonds [...] as varied and at the same time fascinatingly different."
