The Marburger Lahntallauf is an annual ultramarathon along the Lahn and through the Cappeler Feld, which has already hosted the German 50 km road championships several times .

history

The Marburg Lahntallauf was held for the first time in 1993. Until 2009 the event functioned under the title All around the stone mill . In 1996, 2001, 2005, 2008, 2011 and 2015, the German championships over 50 km were integrated into the Marburg Lahntallauf, which means that several well-known top athletes competed on the 10 km long circuit.

Route

"Große Wiese" railway underpass near Gisselberg

From the start at the Lahnwiesen (height south station) the route follows the Lahntal cycle path to the west of Cappel . After crossing under the federal highway 3 , a smaller loop follows over the local industrial area, along the bypass road and past the Landschulheim Steinmühle . Along the federal highway 3, the Lahn is crossed and Gisselberg is reached. The way back up the river takes place on a separate bike path along Gisselberger Straße (Kreisstraße 42), before reaching the start / finish area in the Lahnwiesen via the Schützenpfuhl bridge . In order to achieve the length required for the half marathon and marathon , a short turning point route in the Konrad-Adenauer-Brücke area is also run on the last lap . The competition center of the Lahntallauf is located in the Georg-Gaßmann-Stadion .
