Marc "Hugo" Leuenberger (born June 8, 1979 in Ursenbach BE ) is a former Swiss ice hockey player . His father Hugo and his cousins Sven and Lars are also ice hockey players and have also played for SC Bern for many years .

Career

From 1996 to 1998 Leuenberger played in the U20 and National League A (NLA) with the men's team of SC Bern . At the same time he played in the National League B (NLB) for 5 games at EHC Biel . With the U18 national team, he won the bronze medal at the U18 European Championship in 1997 .

From 1998 to 2000 he played in the NLB at HC La Chaux-de-Fonds , with whom he was promoted to the NLA in 2000. After the end of the season he returned to SC Bern and played in the NLA until the end of the 2004/05 season. In 2004 he became Swiss champion with SC Bern .

From 2005 to 2007 he was active with the SCL Tigers until he moved back to SC Bern for two seasons.

At the beginning of the 2009 season he played for Friborg-Gottéron , which he left in 2011. He then played at SC Langenthal , which won the National League B championship in 2012.

After playing around 900 games, Leuenberger ended his seventeen-year career as an ice hockey player in 2014. Today Leuenberger works as an independent real estate agent.

Private

Leuenberger is married and has three children.
