Maren Unterburger

Maren Unterburger (* 1986 in Bayreuth ) is a German film editor .

life and work

After graduating from high school in 2007, Maren Unterburger studied German and theater studies for two years at the LMU Munich . This was followed by internships at Bayerischer Rundfunk and the ProSiebenSat.1 media group, as well as editing studies at the Bavarian Academy for Television (BAF) in Unterföhring .

Since 2010 she has been responsible for the filmed editing of the charity project Common Good Moving on a voluntary basis .

Maren Unterburger worked as a trailer editor (Junior Writer Producer) at ProSieben until she began her editing picture and sound studies at the International Film School Cologne (ifs köln) in 2012 . In 2016 she graduated with the graduation film Beat Beat Heart . Beat Beat Heart had its world premiere at the 34th Munich Film Festival in 2016 and was awarded a special prize by the jury of the New German Cinema Prize on July 1, 2016 .

Maren Unterburger has been working as a freelance film editor throughout Germany since 2016 and lives in Munich .

She worked with the director Cüneyt Kaya on several film and series projects. So they took over the section of the Netflix original -Spielfilms concrete noise , of April 17, 2020, Netflix was released.

Maren Unterburger works in a special way when it comes to film editing of improvised material. German Mumblecore is a sub genre of independent film . She proves this way of working in film and series projects with director Luise Brinkmann . The joint feature film Beat Beat Heart ran u. a. 2017 at the Slamdance Film Festival (USA).
