The Roman Catholic branch church of the Assumption in Johanneck , in the municipality of Paunzhausen in the district of Freising ( Upper Bavaria ), is a hall church from the Gothic .

history

The 1466 founded church was originally John the Baptist ordained . After fires, it was expanded in 1640 and 1711. It was renovated between 2002 and 2007.

construction

The church has a choir with three yokes and a five-eighths ending . There are Gothic tracery windows in the apex . The nave has buttresses . The nave windows were rounded in the upper part around 1640. The gallery was built in 1640; the upper gallery dates back to 1887. The choir and nave are vaulted with pointed cap barrels, which the master bricklayer Georg Hibler from Kranzberg built in 1711. The vault has monochrome paintings from around 1711. The church was stuccoed with acanthus and figurative motifs by Benedikt Heiss . The late Gothic pillars in the nave were covered in the late Baroque. The stone floor in the nave is from 1640 and 1711. The entrances are on the south and north sides; they are each designed in the form of a baroque portico . The tower, visible from afar, with four gables and a pointed helmet on the south side of the choir, has six floors. It goes back to the second half of the 16th century; after a fire the upper parts were renewed in 1777. The sacristy is set up on the ground floor of the tower and has a post-Gothic cross - ribbed vault .

Furnishing

On the altarpiece of the high altar from 1946 there are sculptures of the two Johannes by Philipp Dirr . On the reredos of the north side altar there are sculptures of St. Sebastian and Florian from the second half of the 17th century, on the southern side altar those of St. Georg and Lambert from the same time. On the north wall of the nave, a group of sculptures of St. Anna and Maria, above a life-size crucifix by Philipp Dirr from 1625 from Freising Cathedral . The church has a Vespers picture from the period between 1460 and 1470. The church stalls are from 1733.
