Maria Elisabeth Straub

Maria Elisabeth Straub (born November 15, 1943 in Pinneberg ; originally: Maria Elisabeth Franck ) is a German writer .

Life

After graduating from high school, Maria Elisabeth Straub studied German and art history in Freiburg (Breisgau) , Berlin , Hamburg and Braunschweig . After dropping out of her studies, she worked for Merian magazine . She has been a freelance writer since 1970 . In 1977 she took part in the first Ingeborg Bachmann competition in Klagenfurt . Today the author lives in North Frisia .

After Straub had successfully delivered the books for the Uta family series produced by Norddeutscher Rundfunk in 1983 , she began working on scripts for the television seriesLindenstrasse ” in 1985 with Martina Borger ; up to 1997 the scripts for about 250 episodes were created. From 2001, Straub and Borger wrote several novels together, for which both were awarded the Wiesbaden Women's Crime Prize in 2002. In 2003, Straub received the Agatha Christie detective award for one of her short stories .
