Maria João David da Silva Bastos (born June 18, 1975 in Benavente ) is a Portuguese actress .
Life
Born on June 18, 1975 in Benavente, in the Santarém district , she played amateur theater in her home town as a teenager. In 1994 she went to Lisbon , where she studied communication sciences at the Universidade Independente . During her studies she worked as a model . After graduating in 1999, she turned to the career as an actress. Her appearance brought her first television roles, in the television series Todo o Tempo do Mundo (German: All the time in the world) and Querido Professor (German: beloved teacher). In 2000, she graduated a few months courses at the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute in New York before re 2001 roles in television series and telenovelas played, even in Brazil, where the telenovela O Clone (dt .: The clone) in 2001 some notoriety attained. At that time she also took on her first roles in Portuguese feature films, both in television and cinema productions.
After they u. a. hosted the 2003 Globos de Ouro Awards Gala for SIC , and in 2007 she signed a contract as exclusive actress for TVI's telenovelas . She also played in productions of Portuguese films , for example in 2012 in the last film by Novo Cinema co- founder Fernando Lopes .
In 2011 she was awarded a Globo de Ouro for her role in Raúl Ruiz 's film and TV multi-part series Mistérios de Lisboa (Eng .: The Secrets of Lisbon ) .
She gained further fame in Portugal in 2013 through her role as Liliane Marise in the novela Destinos Cruzados .
