Marit Malm Frafjord (born November 25, 1985 in Tromsø , Norway ) is a Norwegian handball player . She plays for the Danish first division team Esbjerg .
Career
Frafjord started playing handball at Rapp. At the age of 16, the then backcourt player moved to Byåsen, where she was retrained to become a circle player . With Byåsen, the right-hander was in the final of the European Cup Winners' Cup in 2007 , but failed there against the Romanian representative CS Oltchim Râmnicu Vâlcea . In the summer of 2010 Frajord moved to the Danish top club Viborg HK . With Viborg she won the 2014 European Cup Winners' Cup and the Danish championship. From summer 2014 she played for Larvik HK . With Larvik, she won the championship in 2015, 2016 and 2017. From July 2017 she was under contract with the Romanian first division club CSM Bucharest . With CSM Bucharest she won the Romanian Championship and the Romanian Cup in 2018. After the 2017/18 season, she ended her career. In December 2018 she made her comeback with the Danish first division team Esbjerg. With Esbjerg she won the Danish championship in 2019 and 2020.
Frafjord has played 197 games for the Norwegian national team so far . With the Norwegian team, she won the European Championship in 2006 , 2008 , 2010 and 2016 . At the 2007 World Cup in France, she was runner-up. A year later she won the gold medal at the Olympic Games . She was part of the squad of her national association at the 2009 World Cup in China . At the 2011 World Cup she won the world title. In the summer of 2012, Frafjord again took part in the Olympic Games in London , where they again won the gold medal. She won the bronze medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro .
