Mark Iuliano (born August 12, 1973 in Cosenza , Italy ) is a former Italian football player and current coach . His main position was center back .

Career

In the club

Mark Iuliano began his professional career at Salernitana Calcio in Serie B . He then played on loan for FC Bologna and FC Monza , also in the second Italian division. He spent the most important part of his career from 1996 to 2005 at Juventus Turin , where he was a regular for years and was able to celebrate great successes under coach Marcello Lippi . In January 2005 he moved to Real Mallorca , from which he moved to Sampdoria Genoa in January 2006 . In the 2006/07 season he played for FC Messina in Serie A . From January 2008 Iuliano was with Ravenna Calcio in Serie B under contract. On June 1, 2008, he was tested positive for cocaine during a doping control and was banned for two years. After his professional career was ended because of this incident and Iuliano did not find a new club for a long time, he continued his career for the 2010/11 season at the eighth division San Genesio Calcio in the Prima Categoria .

In the national team

Mark Iuliano made 19 appearances for Italy and scored one goal. He made his debut on September 5, 1998 against Wales and played his last game on November 20, 2002 against Turkey . With the Squadra Azzurra Iuliano took part in the European Championships in 2000 and the World Championships in 2002 .
