Markus Freise
Markus Freise (born May 19, 1971 in Rheda-Wiedenbrück ) is a web designer , comic artist and Slampoet from Bielefeld .
Career
Markus Freise was a participant and moderator of the German-language poetry slam championships in 2004, 2006, 2007, 2009 and 2010 as well as the winner of slams in u. a. Bielefeld, Paderborn and Gütersloh . Freise is the founder of the Internet forum Slam OWL (formerly Grandslamaudio), in which poetry slammers and authors from Ostwestfalen-Lippe and the surrounding area exchange ideas. Together with Mischael-Sarim Verollet , Eric Pfennig and Micha-El Goehre , Freise was part of the reading stage Wortpalast . The West Side Stories reading stage emerged from this , which he organized every two months together with Verollet, Goehre and Ralph Ruthe . Freise is the moderator of the poetry slam Bunkerslam in Bielefeld and the Cup of Good Words poetry slam in Paderborn and Detmold . He is the winner of the Highlander Poetry Slam in Bielefeld 2006. Markus Freise has been a draftsman for Katzen , a joint project with the author Marc-Oliver Schuster, since 2009 . In 2012 Markus Freise published the small graphic novel Magic Spell for Wounded in the Quickie publishing house. In this he uses the poetry slam text of the same name by the author Pauline Füg as a comic story. Spell for the Wounded has topped the comic book bestseller list on Amazon for some time . Together with Karsten Strack , Marc-Oliver Schuster, Nico Bein and Sven Stickling , he organized the 2013 Slam, the German-language championships in the poetry slam, in Bielefeld in 2013 . Freise is the initiator, author and illustrator of the graphic novel Großväterland in which German contemporary witnesses tell of the Second World War. Together with Alex Kahl and Dr. Christian Harding House is grandfathers country the result of a crowdfunding campaign and appeared in addition 2016 Panini-Verlag. Markus Freise has been publishing videos about creativity , comics and illustration on his YouTube channel Vierauge Films since summer 2016 .

Freise works as a web designer in Bielefeld. He is married and has two daughters.
